I have heard Norma Churchill speak about her visions and mentoring relationships with Katherine Whiteside Taylor and Donald F. Sandner for many years. For readers who do not know Norma, she is an excellent shamanic drummer, companion, and dear friend of all creatures. While the title of her book suggests that the reader will be led on a journey to snake-woman, which is true, in some mysterious ways Norma has on more than one occasion and in my presence embodied the archetype. For this reason, I have sometimes referred to her affectionately as "Snake-Woman."
Once, a raven carried a baby kingsnake to her garden bird-fountain and left it there as an omen for her and for us to reflect upon together during our conversations. Was this a gift from the Snake-Woman archetype present in psyche and Nature? It certainly was a synchronicity I will never forget. It reminds me of what Dyane Sherwood has written above about the Mundus imaginalis, where visions like Norma's and the world-field intersect in a meaningful symmetry of trans-marginal consciousness.
I'm so glad my old friend's long-awaited book has now at last been published in such a beautifully designed, eloquent-to-read, and well-edited volume!
Thank you Norma and Dyane for your precious pearls of feminine Wisdom!
